For many years, La Nerthe released just two wines, a 'regular' Chateauneuf, and the rare and limited Cuvee des Cadettes. In recent years, they added Las Granieres, meant to express one specific section of the estate. As of the 2015 vintage, they're transitoning to a new blend, Les Clavelles. We were THRILLED to scoop up some of the last vintage of Granieres and even happier about the price. We're pretty sure you will be, too. A mix of Grenache, Mourvedre, Cinsault, and Syrah, Les Granieres is a perfectly balanced, delightfully nuanced blend of finesse, complexity, and power. Juicy black plum, cherry liqueur, black raspberry, sun-warmed herbs, Asian spices, cinnamon, and vanilla. Yum and yum and YUM. A worthy addition to a Labor Day BBQ, or squirrel some away for cooler weather. But don't hesitate, because this won't last.
